Current project

Last year I searched for cross stitching on Youtube and I stumbled over one of Miss Mell’s WIP videos. I remember she showed the Middle Earth Map and mentioned Heaven and Earth Designs, I had never heard about them so I just had to check out their website. Living in Norway we don’t have a great selection of cross stitch (in my opinion) I was blown away with the beautiful pictures I found on HAED. I looked at all the designers and found one of my favorite artist, the Australian painter Bec Winnel. I could not believe it, I was so happy and called my sister and told her to check out this website. Since then the both of us have purchased several patterns.

On December 1st I started my first HAED, I went for a Mini and I’m stitching it on 18 count Aida. The one I’m stitching is called Laura.

I’m almost done with the top row, I’ve stitched a bit on page 4 to get a break from the white.

This is my progress August 17th

During spring I lost my stitching-bug, so this has been laying untouched for a while. I also had a rotation when I started on this project, that did not work for me. I found that I only wanted to stitch this one, now I only stitch on the others if I need a break from all the confetti on this one. I was a bit concerned if the 18 count would make it look odd, the pattern said 25 count and it is a Mini. I worried for no reason, I think it looks great! Will post an update when my 4th page is completed.

Happy stitching everyone!

I’m back!

It’s been a while since my last blog post. It’s time to show my finished stocking. It was done by Christmas last year, my son was super-happy when he woke on Christmas day and found it filled up with some fruit and candy.

I have started several more projects since last time, I will make a new post soon with my new project and show what I am currently working on.

Happy stitching 🙂

Christmas Stocking

I started this Christmas stocking about 5 years ago. At that time I did not know who I would give it to, hard to choose among 10 nephews and nieces. When I got pregnant I knew who I would give it to, still it has taken me almost 4 years to complete it.

It is the most detailed cross stitch I have med to this date. I have to admit it has been hidden in a drawer for many months at a time. I love how it turned out and luckily my son adores it as well, he can’t wait to have it filled up with goodies on Christmas morning. Now I just have to get my sister to sow the front and back together 🙂

It is a Dimensions The Gold Collection kit called Sweet Dreams. 2014-10-11 00.19.07-1

Work in progress…
